These writers included the likes of novelist Jack Kerouac and poets Gregory Corso, Allen Ginsberg, and William Burroughs, among others. More of a cultural phenomenon, it marked a new alternative lifestyle centered on literature, philosophy, and enlightenment as well as sex, drink, and drugs.
