MUNCHAUSEN SYNDROME BY PROXY (MSP)

is similar to Munchausen's Syndrome however, in MSP a carer or caregiver will intentionally cause symptoms in the patients or family they are caring for in order to obtain medical attention and support. Typically in this case, the caregiver is the mother of a child who behaves distressed with the goal of being seen as an extremely attentive parent.
