Important in fields as far ranging as politics and accident prevention, a practice wherein supervisors conceptualize an array of possible, rationally appropriate scenarios which may take place in the foreseeable future, and make an effort to recognize the ramifications associated with these for their association and its pursuits. The objective is less to forecast the future than to encourage more advantageous decisions, and expose present methods and procedures to essential examination, particularly with regard to their capacity to react flexibly to unforeseen situations.
