ARACHNODACTYLY (Marfan’s syndrome)

A rare inherited disorder characterized by long limbs and spidery hands and feet (the term means “spidery fingers”), and usually associated with mild mental deficiency. Other clinical manifestations are multiple skeletal anomalies, ocular anomalies such as dislocation of the lenses, and cardiac defects. The condition varies from case to case and is probably due to a dominant gene.
