CARTESIANISM

Philosophical system developed by Rene Descatres that has 3 fundamental tenets. All knowledge forms a unity- purpose of knowledge is to provide man with the ability to be master of the natural world- all knowledge must be built up from a foundation of first principles.

CARTESIANISM: "Cartesianism is the influence behind many ideas and assumptions in psychology."
