RED-GREEN RESPONSES

A theory of color vision wherein reactions of some retinal receptors are excitatory, whilst others are inhibitory to an identical wavelength. Given that red and green are at opposing ends of the spectrum, it is generally presumed that an excited red reaction goes along with an inhibited green reaction, each one featuring a distinct receptor operation.
