ANNUNCIATOR

when used in ergonomics, this refers to a monitoring, detecting, and alerting system that warns the system operator when normal limits have been exceeded in some respect. Action is then taken to return the system to the confines of normal limits. See also annunciate.

ANNUNCIATOR: "An annunciator permits the operator of a system to know when normal limits of the system have been exceeded in some manner. "
