BARRIER

n. anything that blocks or impedes the flow of material- something that delays or restricts a person from achieving a set goal or objective. Psychologically speaking, a barrier may limit you individually or as a group in ways that are mental, emotional, or behavioral.

BARRIER: "Fear can be a barrier to learning important skills, one of which would be driving."
