BATTERED-WOMAN SYNDROME (BWS)

Are the end result psychological effects after being beaten by a spouse or domestic partner. This syndrome has been shown to directly lead to learned helplessness and post-traumatic stress disorder. However, it is worth noting that not all women who have been physically abused have then developed Battered-Woman Syndrome.
