n. in humanistic psychology, a new type of cognition which leads to fully experiencing and realizing one's self (self-actualization, B-cognition) in contrast to a mere perception of every day reality (D-cognition). Its two forms include that of an awareness of the universe along with the interrelatedness of everything and that of complete focus on the object of one's attention.
