BLOOD PHOBIA

n. an extreme, irrational fear of blood, that is, seeing blood or any signs of bleeding. Still referred to as hematophobia. Classified by the DSM-IV-TR as a specific phobia of the blood injection injury type.

BLOOD PHOBIA: "People with blood phobia find it troublesome to be in a hospital, treat a wound, or receive an injection."
