BRAID CUTTING

n. a type of fetishism in which attention is drawn towards the hair and then directed away from it. Thus, as a hair fetish, cutting a person's hair can be part of an important ritual, even one related to sexual activity. It can also be a sign of anger, rebellion, or humiliation.

BRAID CUTTING: "There is something holy about long hair in certain ethnic cultures, such that ridding one's self of long locks and braid cutting can be an abrupt yet powerful statement."
