BRAINSTEM

n. the connection between the cerebrum and spinal cord. This part consists of the midbrain, cerebellum, pons, and medulla oblongata (with the latter three comprising the hindbrain).

BRAINSTEM: "The brainstem is the posteriormost part of the brain, and it includes the hindbrain."
