DIVERSION PROGRAM

Program allowing some people to get access to help instead of going to trial for something. The charges are dropped when the program is successfully completed. Also called deferred prosecution.

DIVERSION PROGRAM: "Joe entered a diversion program for drug abuse and all charges against him were dropped."
