EQUAL LOUDNESS CONTOUR

A function relating to decibel sound pressure level to the frequency of pure tones with a loudness value of a 1kHz tone at a fixed level. See loudness.

EQUAL LOUDNESS CONTOUR: "The equal loudness contour has been incorporated into auditory circuitry as a loudness compensation that corrects for the dectreased loudness of low frequencies when listening at low levels."
