EXTREME ENVIRONMENTS

is an umbrella term used to describe any environment (a habitat or place) which can affect the species living there simply due to its characteristics; for example, outer space would be classed as an extreme environment.

EXTREME ENVIRONMENTS: "There is a range of extreme environments on the planet Earth, for example, living in the arctic or trekking through the Amazonian rainforest would both be considered extreme environments."
