GLASGOW COMA SCALE (GCS)

the name of a ratings scale used to assess levels of a person's consciousness after a head injury. Scores range from 3 to 15 include eye opening response, motor response and verbal response.

GLASGOW COMA SCALE (GCS): "On the Glasgow coma scale a score below 8 shows a severe brain injury."
