a level of control over a person who is deemed incompetent in certain areas of society such as control over money for those with a mental illness where their legal guardian would make any decisions on their behalf after taking appropriate advice.

LIMITED GUARDIANSHIP: "Mental retardation can remove an individuals ability to make cogent arguments and correct decisions therefore an adult with limited guardianship will normally take on duties such as financial management for them."
