MARATHON GROUP

is a group of individuals will meet intensely over a short period of time to tackle (usually) a single hypothesis or theory in an attempt to either disprove or even aim to identify further routes of research to help support the idea.

MARATHON GROUP: "The group of physicists who met to discuss Quantum Mechanics theory is an example of a group of experts which meet over a short time to attack a single problem, otherwise known as a marathon group."
