METABOLIC EQUIVALENT

a unit of measurement of energy, or heat, generated by the body. 1 MET = 50 kcal/h/nr bodily exterior. MET units are utilized to evaluate the spending of oxygen within a given activity.

METABOLIC EQUIVALENT: "The metabolic equivalent was greater than what the hypothesis predicted it would be."
