NATURE-NURTURE CONTROVERSY

is a philosophical debate which continuously argues the relative contributions of hereditary and constitutional factors (nature) and their counterpart environmental factors (nurture). Theories and approaches will typically fall on either side of this debate, seldom taking a middle-stance and implying that both nature and our nurturing has an effect.

NATURE-NURTURE CONTROVERSY: "The nature versus nurture debate has raged for centuries, both sides arguing whether external factors have such an effect on behaviours or theories opposed to the lack of an effect external forces actually have."
