ORGANIC RETARDATION

failure of an organ or organ system to grow normally due to an inherited flaw, dietary insufficiency, or hormonal disorder. A failure of at least one portion of the skeletal system to grow normally could be a result of pituitary, genetic, or dietary aspects, or a mixture of these.

ORGANIC RETARDATION: "The damage caused by years spent not treating her thyroid disorder led to organic retardation."
