OUTPATIENT COMMITMENT

a type of court-ordered psychiatric or psychological remediation wherein people are permitted to stay in the community as long as they're closely observed and keep receiving remediation.

OUTPATIENT COMMITMENT: "Outpatient communities allow for individuals undergoing rehabilitation for addictions to remain outside of jail while receiving treatment."
