PHYSICAL MAP

a kind of chromosome map which describes the actual physical locale of genes and inherited markers on the chromosome, with distances gauged in base pairs, kilobases, or like units. Multiple different methods are utilized in building these maps, inclusive of positional cloning and DNA sequencing.
