PILOMOTOR EFFECT

contracting of the piloerector muscles, that causes the hairs on the skin's surface to stand upward. Commonly referred to as pilomotor reaction.

PILOMOTOR EFFECT: "The pilomotor effect is a completely normal reaction to muscle contraction beneath the skin where it is occurring."
