PRECUNEUS

a region on the medial surface of the parietal lobe of each cerebral hemisphere within the brain. Residing between the cingulatel sulcus and the parieto-occipita sulcus, it is engaged in a multitude of mental acts. Immediately posterior to it is the wedge-shaped cuneus.
