PROPANEDIOLS

Derived from propyl alcohol, these compounds were originally developed as antianxiety drugs. Pharmacologically, the are muscle relaxants, depressors of the CNS and interfere with autonomic reactions. Due to their toxicity, this group has been replaced by another class of selected sedatives
