Conjecture formulated using the foundation of a scientific hypothesis which has a strong chance of proving the hypothesis to be incorrect; any hypothesis which stretches to provide explanation (such as some of those in psychology) is not considered to be scientifically genuine, because it cannot be genuinely disproved.
