Adjective which identifies or involves a plane which demarcates the entire body or any organ into left and right areas; may be medial (or central), called a midplane, and divide the object into equal halves, or parallel (to one side or the other of center) called a paraplane.

SAGITTAL: "The body may be divided on the sagittal plane."
