SECONDARY ENVIRONMENT

Surrounding which is supplementary or slightly significant in a person's existence and in which interpersonal interactions are relatively short and impersonal. Compare with: primary environment.

SECONDARY ENVIRONMENT: "A bank or grocery store would qualify as a secondary environment."
