SEMICIRCULAR CANALS

These are the 3 looped tubular channels in the inner ear that help maintain our balance and equilibrium. They form part of the vestibular apparatus. The channels are filled with fluid and are at right angles to each other.

SEMICIRCULAR CANALS: "The semi-circular canals have an enlarged portion called the ampulla which has a sensory structure called the crista."
