SLOW LEARNER

This name is given to a child with a lower than average intelligence who may have mental retardation or may just have a slow intellectual process. The term "slow learner" is often imprecisely applied to children with mild mental retardation.

SLOW LEARNER: "Joe was called a slow learner at school but he wasn't retarded in anyway. "
