STATUS GENERALIZATION

This occurs when a person of authority and respect in one context will enjoy a similar level of status in other contexts. Have a look on the expectation states theory.

STATUS GENERALIZATION: "Joe was given status generalisation and given the respect he had as a manager in the group situation."
