STEPWISE REGRESSION

a group of regression techniques that enter predictor variables into, or deletes them from, the regression equation one variable at a time according to some pre-defined criterion. It is contrasted with ordinary least squares regression; all variables are entered at the same time.

STEPWISE REGRESSION: "Stepwise regression means variables are not entered at the same time."
