SWALLOWING

Physical process where something put in the mouth is moved to the next parts of the digestive system through complex muscular work of muscles in the mouth, including cheek and jaw muscles, as well as action of the tongue. From the mouth, the food is moved to oesophagus, and then toward the stomach.

SWALLOWING: "Example: John was swallowing the tea when the phone rang."
