UNDIFFERENTIATED SOMATOFORM DISORDER

in the DSM- IV-TR, a somatoform disorder wherein at least one physical complaint continues for at least six months, and cannot be explained by a recognized medical condition. Different from factitious disorder or malingering, these indicators are not purposefully faked or generated. It ought not be confused with somatoform disorder not otherwise specified.

UNDIFFERENTIATED SOMATOFORM DISORDER: "The patient has been diagnosed with an undifferentiated somatoform disorder."
