1. with regard to psychoanalytic theory, the envy experienced by some males for the reproductive ability of females, thought of as an unconscious drive which causes them to belittle women. 2. the drive of a transsexual, or of a transvestite man whose sexual identity is that of a woman, to dress in women's garments or have sex-change procedures.
