PANIC ATTACK

an abrupt onset of severe apprehension and fear, when threats of tangible danger are lacking, joined by the existence of such tangible indicators as palpitations, trouble with respiration, chest pain or discomfort, choking or feelings or being smothered, too much sweat, and dizziness. The attack takes place in a discrete period of time and frequently consists of a worry of going crazy, losing control, or death.
