Within the context of this revision, the three ADAMHA research organizations, the National Institute upon Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), the National Institute upon Drug Abuse (NIDA), and the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), were relocated to the National Institutes of Health. The drug misuse and psychological treatment programs offered by ADAMHA continue to be the obligation of SAMHSA.
