An additional character or facet of someone which occurs metaphorically as their replacement or advocate, with diverse attributes. 2. a close, encouraging relative or friend that a person can discuss every kind of predicament or struggle with, as though that person is an alternate of oneself. 3. with regard to psychodrama, a team participant, aside from the counselor, who plays the part of an imperative character in the other member's world, but who also communicates on behalf of the other member in order to represent their views and express behaviors sensed but not indicated by the other member.
