ANSCHAUUNG

n. the German term for intuition. Coined by Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) this concept refers to immediate - as opposed to conceptual knowing, for example, knowledge of a common object.

ANSCHAUUNG: "The person experienced anschauung when he or she saw fire and instantly recognized it as such. "
