APPERCEPTION

n. 1. the process of perceiving something consciously and mindfully. 2. the mental process bv which a perception or an idea is integrated and assimilated into an individual's existing knowledge, thoughts, and cognitive schemas . See also tendentious apperception.

APPERCEPTION: "The person engaged in apperception when he or she savored her chocolate cake with multiple senses- sight, smell, taste, and touch."
