ASSOCIATION CORTEX

one of many areas of the cerebral cortex that are not principally involved in sensory or motor representations. However, these areas may be involved in integrative functions. Also known as the association area.

ASSOCIATION CORTEX: "An association cortex represents any brain area not directly involved in sensory or motor functioning. "
