ATONIC SEIZURE

a rarer, generalized type of seizure in which there is a rapid loss of muscle tone and the individual unexpectedly falls on the ground. Historically, this was called an akinetic seizure.

ATONIC SEIZURE: "A person suffering atonic seizure experiences a rapid loss of muscle tone, which leads to them falling on the ground."
