ATTENTIVENESS

n. 1. the state of being awake, alert and actively paying attention to a stimulus. 2. the quality of actively attending to the needs of others who may or may not be in distress.

ATTENTIVENESS: "The person who raised his or her hand in response to every question the teacher asked was displaying signs of attentiveness."
