AUDITORY ACUITY

the ability to detect and discriminate between different, sometimes similar-sounding sounds. For example, auditory frequency acuity is the ability to distinguish between sounds that differ in their frequency composition.

AUDITORY ACUITY: "A person with good auditory acuity has the ability to distinguish between different frequencies of sound."
