AUFGABE

refers to an assignment, task (German): May refer to a mental preparation or predisposition that unconsciously determines the way a person handles a situation or task. For example, if the problem involves the numbers 6 and 4 and the clue is adding, the answer is 10, but if the clue is subtracting, the answer is 2. The term was introduced by the Wurzburg school in their introspective experiments on mental processes. See also determining tendency.
