BATTLE OF THE EXPERTS

n. a legal battle wherein two opposing sides present their expert witnesses for or against the case. Since the testimonies are contradictory, they hardly enable both judge and jury to resolve the issue or to arrive at a decision.

BATTLE OF THE EXPERTS: "In the courtroom, a battle of the experts can be a never-ending battle of the wits."
