CELL PROLIFERATION

n. the continuous process of cellular multiplication and differentiation. As to increase in number and size, this is achieved through the process of mitosis or cell division. Cells also proliferate and differentiate in order to adapt to a more complex structure and function.

CELL PROLIFERATION: "Normally, cell proliferation is a growth process which involves the rapid increase of cells."
