FORCED TREATMENT

Term that is applied to any therapy that is given to a person against their will. It often refers to unusual or hazardous treatment such as a lobotomy or electroconvulsive therapy.

FORCED TREATMENT: "Joe had electroconvulsive therapy as a forced treatment."
